Meeting Keith Rossetti

Today I'd like to introduce you to Keith Rossetti. We first met him in Re/Bound. He's Malcolm's best friend, the guy who ran the sting operation that nabbed the bad guy who killed Darcy's fiance.In Re/Paired, we get to know this Dom intimately. He's the youngest and only son of a Starr and Tony Rossetti. He has two (much) older sisters, Leanna and Savannah.

With parents and sisters who are drunks, Keith's fate was sealed early on. He was an alcoholic by the time he was fifteen. He doesn't even remember enlisting in the Marines. Having a sense of purpose and a true friend (Malcolm) helped Keith see the error of his ways. He sobered up, and eventually he joined the FBI.

Unfortunately, his experiences have left him utterly disillusioned when it comes to women. He takes a utilitarian approach to dating, using women and tossing them aside as soon as they become cloying. The only women he likes are Malcolm's mother, whom he affectionately refers to as "Mama L," and Malcolm's sister, Katrina. She's sweet and beautiful, someone he could never soil with his cynicism. He and Malcolm had long ago agreed that Katrina was off-limits.

Keith is the kind of man who breaks your heart. He has so much to offer, yet he thinks he doesn't have anything good or pure to offer a woman. He's willing to love from afar because he doesn't know what it's like to participate in a loving relationship.

And so that's where we are when Re/Paired begins. I'm going to end here. <Shakes head and imitates River Song saying, "Spoilers.">
