Lorelei Confer's Deadly Deliverance

Posted by Michele Zurlo on January 28, 2012 at 3:45 PM

Good morning! I’m Lorelei Confer and I write romantic suspense. I wrote my first story in the fourth grade in the form of a play which actually was produced by my teacher for parents and students. I continued writing and majored in English in College. I practice every day to improve my craft.

An author of romantic suspense I love reading almost as much as writing. I have filled my book shelves with my favorites, i.e. Harlan Colban, Eliza March, Johanna Lindsey, Kathy Carmichael, Kathleen Woodiwiss, Andrew Gross, Terri Garey, Karen Rose, LuAnn Rice, and Bobbi Smith just to mention a few, as well as all the classics.

I live on a peninsula in the mid west coast of Florida with my husband, two cats, and AJ, my long haired Chihuahua.

I love hearing from readers so please visit my website: www.loreleiconfer.com or blog at www.loreleiconfer.blogspot.com.

In doing research for my first book, Deadly Deception, I learned so much about Human Sex Trafficking and I really wanted to get the message out that this horrific crime is happening in your own backyard. I met with an undercover detective assigned to our local task force for human trafficking and from all the information I gleaned from him and numerous other interviews I have been able to put together realistic stories.

My second book, Deadly Revenge, happens in the North Carolina mountains which is the eighth likely state for human trafficking due to their interstate going north and south and east and west. Who knew?

I’ve just finished my third book in the ‘Deadly’ series, Deadly Deliverance, which is also about human sex trafficking from an investigators point of view. It’s primarily located in the Washington, DC area and is available from Siren Bookstrand.

I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy researching and writing them. Comment below for a chance to win a copy of Deadly Deliverance.

Hello Lorelei,

If I may quote a very important fact from your web site, one I feel that tends to be "hush, hush" here in America; "Human Trafficking is the exploitation by force, fraud or coercion of vulnerable people for forced labor, domestic servitude or commercial sex operations." This does go on, right here, but for some reason people tend to think; "Oh that's not a US problem, that's just an overseas issue." Talk about putting their hands in the sand or "not" wanting to "know", I think is more like it because it is easier for them "personally to deal with in their own "little perfect world". I know, I probably on my soapbox, but as you have found in your extensive research, all this & so much more is so true.

Lorelei, your 1st book of your "Deadly" Series, "DEADLY DECEPTION" delves into this taboo issue of Human Trafficking when your heroine Isabella Donnelly is drugged & abducted but finally is able to escape into the arms of Detective, Wyatt Bowman. This book sounds dangerously HOT, darkly decedent & a Smokin' page-turner, definitely a must read.

Lorelei, in your 2nd book of your "Deadly" Series, "DEADLY REVENGE ", your heroine Tory Richards goes through so much & Undercover Officer, Dave Miller, who is on the task force for human trafficking has to save Tory, all along as they have ben falling in love. This sounds like yet another sexually suspenseful, edgy yet romantic book not t be missed.

Now in your 3rd Book of your "Deadly" Series, "Deadly Deliverance", Sam Brower, undercover task force detective for the human trafficking when his niece Autumn is kidnapped & Sam's ex-girlfriend, Lisa Conover, a former DC cop, is assigned to the disappearance of Sam's long lost brother Luke.
If I may again quote from your recent release,
"His mouth moved to encompass hers, his tongue tangling with hers. He groaned as he pulled her closer to rub against his erection. He walked her backwards toward the bed until the back of her legs could go no farther. They slowly tumbled to the bed without breaking the kiss. He held her in his arms, plundering her mouth. His hands moved up her side and found her breast. She wiggled. His fingers found her nipple and gently squeezed until it became erect and hard. He pulled up her blouse and broke the kiss to take his wet mouth to her breast. He moved her satin-and-lace bra out of the way and plundered her nipple. She groaned and arched toward him. His hand pulled up her skirt and reached for her feminine curls finding soft, satin-and-lace matching panties. He pulled them aside and reached for her hot wet spot waiting and ready for him."
OMG PLEASSSEEEE pass me a fan or a cold glass of water & just pour it over my head. LOL This is One SMOKIN' HOT Book that sounds like it still has all the Suspense, Danger & HEAT as the 2 Books before.
This is a Series I sure do NOT want to miss! You have truly out-done yourself Mrs. Confer & gained a Fan & a Follower for my "Must Buy List".
I would very much appreciate being considered to be entered in your giveaway, Thank you.

This sounds like an excellent series. I read in a newspaper several years ago that there had been a raid by a combined team of local and federal agents on a series of low-class night clubs resulting in the rescue of 120 women being used as sex-slaves. These women had been kidnapped when trying to enter the US from Mexico, although many were from Central and South America. I know this goes on and it's a subject that needs to be brought out.
Wishing you lots of sales. Good luck.
